WESTERN TAIERI DRAINAGE BOARD.
The monthly meeting, held at Mosgiol on Monday, was attended by Messrs James Miller, R. A. Kempshell, O. Campbell, and Jos. M'Neill. In the absence of the chairman (Mr J. T. Gibson), Mr Miller presided. Previous to the ordinary business a vote of condolence was passed to Mr \V. ThomBon and family in connection with the death of Sergeant Miller in the fightingline. In answer to a, letter from Mr Robert Harvey, it was decided to clean out portion of Lee Creek. It was resolved to interview tho Oiago Acclimatisation Society's ranger in answer to a request for a (ish ladder at weir in Lee Creek. It was resolved to levy tho additional 10 per cent, on all rates outstanding after March 31 for the current also to sue for any rates outstanding in respect of previous years. The damage caused by the flood of last June was set down at £850, tmd tho secretary was instructed to write to the superintendent of the State Advances Department for permission to raise a special loan to cover that amount. Accounts amounting to £2129 13s Id vfrto passed for payment. WOLFE'S SCHNAPPS, a wholesome and a palatable stimulant.
