LAND SALE AT WAIMATE.
Messrs Guinness and LeCren offered at their Waimate land sale rooms of Saturday, on behalf of tho executors of the late Mr Carlisle Studholmo, the Pentland Hills Estate of 2470 acres freehold and 653 acres leasehold, the Kaiwaraa Estate of 7932 acres freehold and 15,372 acres leasehold, and the Wainono residential farm of 269 acres. There was a large attendance, but as the auctioneers could only offer Kaiwarua and Pentland Hilla as one block, bids were not forthcoming. Tha Wainono Estate failed to find a buyer. Afterwards the auctioneers were approached regarding subdivision, and it has been decided immediately to rcoffer the blooks as follows:—Lot l": Pentland Hills, 2470 acres freehold, -653 acres leasehold. Lot 2: Kaiwarua, 7932 acres freehold, 15,372 acres leasehold. The Wainono Estate will bo sub-divided into small lots for dairy and grain-farming, and a small block has been set aside to go with the residence. The auctioneers inform us that interest has_ been manifested in the district. By offering in tho manner indicated it is hoped to meet the requirements of those who are interested in the property.
