POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office as under:—
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 30.
Parcel mails for Expeditionary Forces abroad and for United Kingdom close at Chief Post Office at 4 p.m. MONDAY, JANUARY 1.
For United Kingdom and Continent of Europe (specially addressed per direct steamer), at 6 a.m. TUESDAY, JANUARY 2. For Exeditionary Forces abroad (letter mails only), North Express at 10 a.m. Latefee letter C.P.O. 10.30 a.m., and railway station 11.14 a.m. WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 3. For United Kingdom and Continent of Europe (due London February 4), Canada, United States of America, Ccnl-al and South America, West Indies, etc., via San Francisco, and also for Raratonga and Tahiti, by North Express at 10 a.m. Latefee letters C.P.O. 10.30 a.m., and railway station 11.14 a.m.
For Australian States, Ceylon, India, China, Japan, Egypt, and South Africa' also for United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, duo London February 14; (correspondence for the United Kingdom must be specially addressed "Via Suez" to connect with Moeraki), by North Express at lO.am. Late-fee letters C.P.O. at 10 a.in., and railway station at 11.14 a.m.
MAIL ARRANGEMENTS FOR NEW
YEAR HOLIDAYS.
Monday, January 1 (Now Year's Day), will be observed as a close holiday. Mails usually despatched on that day will bo closed at 8 p.m. to-morrow (Saturday), December 30.
Supplementary mails will be made up on Monday, January 1, at 6.30 a.m. All letter receiving boxus in the city and suburbs will be cleared at midnight on December 31.
A full delivery by letter carriers will bo made on the afternoon of Saturday, December 30, and a counter delivery will also be mada at the Chief Post Office between 7 and 8 p.m. on that day.
Money orders for places within tho domion close one hour before advertised time of closing letter mails. Money orders
for places beyond the daminioa for despatch by the North or South Express close at 4 p.m. tho previoue day. Registered mails doso ono hour before advertised time of closing ordinary mails. Book packets, commercial papers, and newspapers doso half an hour before tho advertised time of lettor mails. Theodobb Kiko, Chief Postmaster.
