Strong south-easterly winds have ruled in aod northward of Cook Strait and variable brceies clscwhyre. Present indications are for moderate to strong south-easterly winds in the north, and variable breezes, with northerliea predominating, elsewhure. Expect unsettled conditions to continue for a period in t&e north, but warm and fair to clondy ■weather generally. The Kaitangata will leave Melbourne on Tuesday for Adelaide. She will return from Edithburg and Wallaroo to Timaru and Lyttelton. The Karori was due to arrive at Wanganui yesterday from Wallaroo. The Kauri is to leave Auckland early next week for Newcastle.

The. Kurow sailed from Auckland yesterday, for Newcastle.

The Rakanoa will leave Sydney on Tuesday for Newcastle, where she will load a part cargo of coal. She will complete loading at Sydney, and will then proceed to Auckland.

The Kokiri arrived at Sydney on Tucs- . day from Greymouth, and will sail to-day for Newcastle. The Koromiko . was due at Newcastle yesterday to load for Lyttelton. ' The Rosamond left Wellington yesterday for Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. The barque Rona was taken from Dun,edin to Port Chalmers yesterday, and was docked for overhauling and cleaning.
