THE WEATHER.
Cold showery weather has been experienced in Dunedin for the past two days, and at a late hour last night it was raining fairly heavily. Tho following is tho rainfall for the week ending August 5, taken by the engineer (Mr Jacobson) at tho Pumping Station at 9 a.m. each day:—July 31, 390 points; August 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 320, 440, 320, 300, and 80 pointe respectively—making a total of 1.850 inches. The July record was 1.370 inche&. The total fall tor the year to date is 15,340 mahes. (Fbom Ode Own Correspondent.) GERALDINE, August 4. Tho rainfall registered for tho iA Hours ended 9 aan. to-day was 73 points. The weather is gloomy and wet. Snow, fleet, and heavy rain from tho S.E. has fallen in showers TOTARA, August 5. The rainfall for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. on August 4 was 30 points, and for the same period ended to-day, 15 points, li, has rained every day this week, 153 point. 1 - having fallen. NASEBY, August 3. Snow has continued to fall intermittently in Naseby during the last three days, i 1 hour six inches of snow is lying m tho town.
