ST. KILDA BOROUGH CODICIL.

The fortnigiitly meeting of the St. Kilda Borough Council was lield last evening; present —the Mayor (Mr W. T. M'Farlane), Ors Campbell, M'Connell, Qlaxk, Dove, Edgar, und Sourr. CORJUSSPONDKNOE. The St. Kilda Ladies' Patriotic Society wrote thanking tho council for assistance jp oonncction with its reoent concert. Over £27 had been collected as the result of this effort, leaving a net profit of £21.—Received The Under-secretary of Internal Affairs wrote intimating that April 26 had been proclaimed a hall-holiday in commemoration of tho brave deeds of the New Zealanders and Australians at Anzao, the holiday to bo known as Anzac Day.—-lfc was decided that tho holiday be observed. BKPOETS. The Works Committee reported having instructed the engineer to have tho end of Bowen etreot placed in proper order. It also recommended that the metal , in Conghtrey atrect be blinded.—Adopted. The Finance, General, and Hall committee's report recommendod that Mr W. B. Scott be granted £1 per annum, for his section, which was being used as a public pound. With respect to Mr Kobert Laurie's application ,to have his shop painted, the committee recommended that Mr Laurie be informed that the council could not do anything at present, but would consider the matter later. The committee further recommended that an additional sum of £5000 of the loan of £25,000 be borrowed. The bank balances were reported aa follow: District fund account (dr.), £461 14e Id; special loan account No. 2 (cr.l, £192 2s 7d; special loan account No. 3 (or.), £3SB 5s 6d; drainage and sewerage account (or.), £228 17s Wα.—The report was adopted. The! next meeting of the council waa fixed for April 26.
