HOMES FOR SOLDIERS. NEW SOUTH WALES'S PROVISION. SYDNEY, April 6. It is officially announced that the New South Wales Government proposes to erect suburban homes for incapacitated returned soldiers at a cost- of £250,000., Each home, with a block of land attached, will be given as a free gift. Safeguards are provided against the disposal of these homes by the recipients.

HIS AUSTRALASIAN TOUR. HOBART, April 6. (Received ( April 5, at 10.55 p.m.) Sir H. Rider Haggard will conclude his Tasmania.n investigations into the soldier settlement scheme on Saturday. He will visit the various States of Australia before proceeding to New Zealand.
GERMAN WITH FIREARMS
HEAVY FINE IMPOSED. SUVA; April 6. Alfred Kienzle, a German, living in Levuka, was- fined £75 for having firearms in his possession.
