PORT CHALMERS PATRIOTIC ASSOCIATION.

The Port Chalmers ladies are endeavouring to get a large amount of' work done during the next few weeks in order to enjoy a wellearned rest at Christmas and New Year. A largo number of "housewives'' were finished on Friday, and a goodly number of socks and balaclavas were handed in. There is a great quantity of service bags, soap bags, pyjamas, shirts, eta, cut out roady to be made, and anyono willing to help can receive material from the chairwoman. The committee is very grateful to two little girls (Isabel and Muriel Watson), who so successfully organised a sale of work, assisted by their mother (Mis A. Watson), sister (Miss Vera Watson), and a few other friends. They had a plain work stall, fancy work stall lolly stall, Christmas tree, and refreshment rooms. Tho sale was very well patronised, a brisk business being done, with the splendid result of £20 8s ld._ Thisys to be devoted to tho Leather Waistcoat Fund, which will bring the amount for leather waiftcoats up to £47 9s Id. thus enabling the association to provide for all the Port Chalmers boys. Money received :—Leather waistcoats: Isabel and Muriel Watson £20 8s Id, Mrs Eagar ss, Mrs E. W. Isbister 10s. Socks: Mrs J. H. Gray, Mrs E. Davis (Gimmerburn), Mrs Mill, Misses Mill, Mrs Curror, Miss Murray, Mrs 11. B. Goertz, Mrs A., M. N. Miller, Mrs Pat-ton, Mrs Da Costal, Mrs Spence, Mrs E. W.
