GIRLS ON STRIKE
DISPUTE IN A BOOT FACTORY. GRIEVANCES SETTLED. (Pee United Pkkss Association.) WELLINGTON, November 19. As the result of a slight disagreement with a member of the staff, the girls employed- at Hannah's boot factory declared themselves on strike this afternoon. It appeared that during the forenoon they had taken offence at something said to them, and at one o'clock they declined to return to work until they received satisfaction. Their grievance was disposed of during tho afternoon, and tho " strikers" declared their willingness to return to work to-mor-row morning. While the dispute was jn progress, the neighbourhood of the factory presented an unusual scene, a number of excited young women standing about in groups discussing the situation.
