The Wimmera will bo a day late next week arriving here from Melbourne, via Cook Strait, and her departure from Dunedin has been postponed until Thursday instead of Wednesday—her usual sailing day—for Melbourne, via Bluff. The Maitai cleared San Francisco on her due date—November 10, for Papeete. Rarotonga, and Wellington. Sho is due at Wellington on December 2, and will be docked at Lyttelton prior to leaving Wellington on . December 9 on her return trip. The Paloona is expected to arrive early this morning from Lyttelton—a day late this trip owing to the bad weather up north. Her departure has been correspondingly delayed for her return > trip, and she will' not leave Dunedin until 3 p.m. to-morrow for Auckland, via way ports. Mr L. W. Bell, late third officer of tho ' Waipori, has joined the Royal Naval Reserve, and is now on active service. He graduated in the Union Company's training ships, and was a member of the Third Reinforcements when they landed at Gallipoli. . Captain F. A. M'lndoe, secretary of the Merchant Service Guild, is at present on a visit to Dunedin in order to attend the conference with the representatives of the Union Company with a view to arriving at a settlement of various matters relating to wages, overtime, in the mercantile service in the dominion.
