ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(Peb United Pbess Association.) PALMERSTON N., November 16. Henry Gray, 13, fell into a hole on the main road near Tokomaru yesterday during the storm, and was drowned. A young woman named Ivy Hadler, residing at Woolston, was taken to the Christchjurch Hospital about 10 o'clock on Sunday evening in an condition, the result of a fall. She was discovered lying on the road at Sandilands, near New Brighton, with her bicycle lying near her (says the Prese). She was at once sent to tho hospital, and recovered consciousness later, but could give no account of what had hanpened to her. Presumably she was overtaken by a fainting fit. Constable Regan, who, with two other constables was on duty at the Show Grounds, Addington, on Friday night, patrolling the ground, met with an accident attended with serious results, and narrowly escaped more serious injury (says the Christchurch Press). Constable Regan's attention was attracted by some bright object between the tents. In order to investigate the matter ho lit a match, with the result that the remains of benzine in a tin were exploded by the flame. The palm of . Constable Regan's right hand was badly injured, and necessitated treatment and dressing at the hospital He will be incapacitated for duty for some time.
