Mr Frank Brocket applied for a grazing license over an area of 12 acres in block I, Kurow district, between the area already held by him on grazing license iind tho Kurow River.— Approved, at rental of ss. Mr Philip May Parcell applied to select on the renewable lease system an estimated area of 50 acres of land in block I, Bannoekburn district.— Declined. Mr George Webb applied to select, without competition, under section 13d of " The Land Act, 1908," on the renewable lease system, sections 11 and 12, blook I, Silver Peak district, containing an aggregate area of 137 acres.—Approved, in accordance with the warden's report, subject to the Minister's approval. Mr Joseph Kitto applied for an occupation lease over the tailings reserve and residence area (live acres) on the eastern side of the northern portion of section 5, block V, Wakefield district. —Resolved to submit for report by warden and ranger. Mr Thomas Tliompson renewed his application for an occupation lease over an estimated area of 10 acres of unsurveyed land in block VIII. Benger district—Provisionally approved. The Ranger submitted a further report upon the land in block IX Leaning Rock District, applied for by Mrs Mary Ann Paton.—Resolution of September 9, 1914, rescinded, and application granted. The Ranger submitted a further report upon the land in block IX, Leaning Rock district, applied for on the occupation loase system by Mr James T. P. Morton.—Resolution of September 9. 1914, rescinded, and application granted. Mr Fred. William Knight applied for an occupation .lease over 4 acrcs of land, being part of scction 17, block XIV, Tuapeka East District. —Declined. Mr Joseph If. Haughton applied for section 3, block VII. Teviot District, 'containing 303 a Or 9p, held at present on m.l. 2114 by John Ewing.—Declined. Mr William Carl Nicholson applied for an occupation lease over an estimated area of 10 acres of land near the Molyneux River at Ettrick.—Deferred for ranger's report Mr Thomas Meldrum applied for sections 59a, 60a. 61a, and 62u. Conical Hills Settlement. —Resolved that sections be grouped and offered for selection as .one lot at orginal capital value. The Kahikntca Sawmilling Company applied for a sawmilling license over its first reserved area, being section 6. block 11, Woodland District, containing 165? acres. —Approved, at a royalty of 6d per jOO square feet. Completion of survey of land in block VII, Leaning Block District, applied for on occupation lease by Mr Charles Theyors.—Approved, lease of adjoining land to be surrendered and area included in one lot. Completion ,of survey of land in block IV. Cromwcjl District, auplied for as an occupation lease by Mr James Tait. —Approved, at rental of 2s per aero per annum. Completion of survey of land in block IX. Leaning Rock District, I applied for on occupation lease by Mr George Wellor Jackson. —Approved, subject to conditions as to Government races, at Is per acre per annum. Completion of sur-

vey of land in Cairnhill District, applied for on occupation lease by Mr Patrick Brown. —Approved, at 9d per acre per annum, provided area is surrendered by pastoral run licensee. Completion of survey of land in block XI, Leaning Rock District, applied for as an occupation lease by Mr James Hoit.—Approved, at 3s per acre per annum. Completion of survey of land in block VII, Leaning Rock District, applied for by Mr Walter Maynard.—Approved, at rental of 3s per acre per annum. Completion of survey of section 85, block IX, Leaning Rook District, applied fon on the occupation lease system by Mrs May Mary Thomson. —Approved, at rental of 103. Mr William Scott applied -for a miscellaneous license under " The Land Act, 1908," over section 6, block XXXII, lowu of Hawks bury, formerly held under e.r. 72 by Mrs Carter, now deceased. —Resolved to cancel e.r. 72, and grant land to Mr W Scott at rental to be fixed by ranger. Approved. Rural lease 54e.—Mr C. Fraser asked permission to remove a hut from section 28a to section 15a, Otekaike Settlement.—Approved , Rural lease 52s—Mrs C. Fraser? lessee of section 19a, Otekaike Settlement, applied for permission to let, the section for one crop of wheat.—Approved. Lease in perpetuity 962. —Issue of a_ new lease over section i, block VIII. Mount Hyde district, Mr James Carnie, lessee, m lieu of 1 i.p. 962, which was destroyed by tire.—Approved on payment of £1 Is fee. Section 2a, Bellamy Settlement, having been selected on renewable lease, the board was requested to fix the monthly rental payable on miscellaneous license 2600 for section 3a. —Rent reduced from 30s to 14s as from November 10, 1915. Option with right of purchase'.—l ho ranger submitted a report upon forfeiteo section 15, block VHI, Warepa district.— Resolved to reoffer under optional conditions at 12s 6d per acre. Optional lease 440. —Nonfulfilment of con ditions of lease section 89, block X, Leaning Rock, Mr William Williams. —Resolved to cancel lease.

Mr William D. Smith, failure to pay rent and license fee for grazing license over sec tion 36, block VI, and section 47, block VII, Glenomaru district, granted on Bth September last.—Approval of application rescinded.

Lpase in perpetuity 1460. —Resolved to cancel lease of section 7, block I, Kaitangata, held by J. Allen. Section 60a, Otekaikc Settlement. —Mr John S. Adams, area 413 acres 3 roods 12 poles, deficient improvements.—Resolved to take no action at present. James Logan, licensee of pastoral runs 96. 97, and 98, Vincent County, 127,500 acres, applied for permission to plough 400 acres for winter feed and sow down in artificial grasses.—Recommended for approval, subject to ranger's report. _ ' Petition from settlers in Waitahuna Settlement for a remission of a • half year's rent.—Resolved there is no power to grant a remission of rent, but board will recommend postponement of six months' rent for period of 12 months. Petition from settlers in .Otanomomo Settlement for a remission of postponed rent. — Resolved that there is no power to grant a remission, but, that Minister be recommended to approve of further postponement of rents already postponed for further 12 months.

It was decided that the meetings of the board for 1916 should bo held on the following dates, which fall on a Wednesday in each case: —January 12, February 9, March 8, April 12, May 10, June 7, July 12, August 9, September 13, October 11, November 8, December 13.
