At the inquest into the death of Mrs Page, of Newcastle, deceasfed's niece gave evidence tnat she obtained some medicine, which her aunt took, remarking on its nasty taste. A quarter of an hour later she died. Dr Petherbridge gave evidence that he made a mistake in preparing the medicine, using strychnine instead of quinine hydrochloride. He called to see his patient, but she was already dead. He told the Government medical, officer of his mistake.

Dr Petherbridge has been committed for trial.
