- Meat.-—There has been no material change in tho market conditions during tho week. The market remains firm, with a fair demand for all descriptions of New Zealand.

Mutton.—North Island, 5 l!-16d; ordinary quality, 5 13-16 d; ewes, sid. Lamb.—Other than Canterbury, 7Jd for best quality. Be of .—New Zealand hinds, 6 3-16 d; fores, 6^d; chilled (larger arrivals at market) — hinds 61J, fores 6d.

Butter.—Market firm at an advance, with good demand for colonial; Danish, 138s to 140s; New Zealand, 134s to 136s—exceptional 138s; Australian, 130s to 134s— exceptional 1355; Siberian, 120s to 130s; Argentine, 128s to 130s.

Cheese.—Market firm at an advance, with a moderate demand by the trade on account of the large quantities required for the Government. Tho spot market is bare. Canadian white coloured, 92s to 945; New Zealand white coloured, 90s to 92s—exceptional 935; Australian, 86s to 88s; United States, 84s to 90s. Tho estimated Canadian cheese stocks at London, Liverpool, and Bristol on March 1 were 78,000 boxes, against 96,000 at this time last year. The New Zealand and Australian cheese stocks London and Bristol were 14,700 orates, against 357,000 at the same time last year. , Hemp. Market steady, without animar - ew Zealand good to fair grade, £31; fair, £29; fair current Manila, £35; forward shipment _at same prices. The output from Manila for the week was 14.000 bales.

Wool.—Tho sales closed with a strong market, which was excited, a large business doing, because tho supply fell short of the demand. The outlook is very encouraging, and present rates are likelv to be maintained at present prices. Medium and coarse crossbreds of all grades aro higher than for 40 years previously. Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report as follows:—We hold our weekly sale of gram and produce on Monday, when values ruled as under: Oats: During the past week the demand lias boeli somewhat irregular. For some days it was almost, impossible to effect sales at late quotations; but, with a stronger inquiry from outside markets, a better demand has provailed during the past 10 days, and prices lire firm at quotations. The demand is chiefly for best qualities of all kinds of oats, medium lines not having the sanie attention Prime milling, 4s Id to 4s 2d; good to best ieed, 3s Id to 4s Id; inferior to medium, 3s od to 3s lOd. Wheat: Thrashing is not jet general, although a few lots have conic on to the- market.
