ELECTION PETITION.
(Pes United Pbess Association.) WELLINGTON, January 26. The Registrar of the Supreme Court, Wellington, has received a petition by Nau Paraone Kawiti, boarding-house keeper, Whangarei, and Maera Kuas, settler, of Tautoro, Kaikohe, against the return of Tau Henare as member for the Northern Maori electorate. A number of irregularities in connection with voting papers are alleged. The petition has been forwarded to the Chief Justice at Christchurch to fix the date of the hearing and to appoint judges. The Chief Justice and Mr Justice Edwards will commence the hearing of the Hawke's Bay petition at the Napier Supreme Court on February 22. Mr Justice Cooper and Mr Justice Chapman will hear the Taumarunui petition at a time and place to be fixed.
