The postal authorities notify that wireless communication has been established between Australia and Nauru Island (between the Solomon and Marshall Islands). MELBOURNE, January 18. A heat wave is affecting the whole of the States. Saturday was the hottest day recorded since February 17, 1914. (Received Jan. 19, at 0.5 a.m.) Victorian imports for 1914 decreased by £1,277,395, and the exports decreased by £3,044,274, as compared with 1913. BRISBANE, January 18. The Control of Trade Board has increased the price of beef by l£d lb all round.
