(Received Jan. 18, at 9.50 p.m.) The AdmiTalty patrol tug Char had a hole knocked in her while getting alongside the steamer Erwan, which, being damaged by the impact, and filling rapidly, was unable to help. The Deal lifeboat made a 12 hours' search in a hurricane, but was unable to find the, Char. It is believed that she drifted on to the Goodwins, and that the crew of 17 were lost.
