Lindsay, who was convicted of the manslaughter of his wire, was to-day sentenced to seven years' imprisonment. The Lindsays livrd at Port Darwin. Mrs Lindsay, in her dying deposition, stated that she awakened to find her husband standing over her with a razor. She sprang out of I bod, whereupon her husband, shot her twice. She denied certain allegations that were ! made against her. Lindsay, who was formerly president _of tho Amalgamated Emrineers' Society in Sydney, told the arresting constable that he shot his wife twice and meant to finish the job and shoot himself, but tho hammer of the revolver jammed.
