The Kofca.ro arrived yesterday morning from Catlins, and will sail to-day for southern ports. The Hinemoa is expected to arrive to-day to. load stores for the southern lighthouses. Mr S. A. Chatficld, second officer of the Navua, has joined the Kurow in a similar capaoitj.

Mr A. Pyper, who has" been ashore on Biok leave, has rejoined the Kavua, as second officer.

Captain B. B. Irwin is to take command of the Koromiko at Auckland, relieving Captain H. S. Why born, who has come ashore on holiday leave. Mr F. J. Ritson, late second engineer of tho Aorangi, is at present in Wellington on -furlough. Mr Benstead, purser of tho Patecna, left that vessel at Wellington on Friday in order to join the 'fa-raw era. Mr Spiers, purser of the latter steamer, has been granted holiday leave. Mr Coull, purser of tho Arahura, has joined tho Patecna in a similar capacity. Mr R. Wood, purser of the MonowaJ, signed off that vessel's articles at Wellington on Saturday, and has joined tho Arahura.

Mr F. Williams, who eamo to Wellington as a passenger by the Monowai, joined that vessel as purser on Saturday. Mr Mcnzies joined the Maheno as purser vcsteixlay, and -will probably be relieved by Mr Gillon on arrival of the vessel at %d----nc VThe Monowai steamed down to Port Chalmers last evening, to be laid up for survey and overhaul.

The Delphic is expected to arrive on Sunday morning from Liverpool, via northern ports, and will complete the discharge, of her Home cargo at Dunedin. Tho Kaipara completed her Homeward loading at Port Chalmers yesterday afternoon, and sailed, for Lyttolton, where she will fill up her hatches. She will sail on Saturday lor London and West of England ports. The Huddart-Parker Company's steamer Ulimaroa is due to arrive on Saturday morniiiir from Svdncv, via Cook Strait, and will be despatched the following day for Melbourne, via Bluff and fiobart. Under oharter to tho Federal-Shire Company, tho steamer Northern is due to arrive on Tuesday next from Liverpool, via northem ports." After she completes her discharge at Dunedin her present charter will terminate. The Maitai sailed yesterday afternoon for Auckland, via East 'Coast porta, having taken the place of tho Monowai during the lay-up of the latter vessel for survey and overhaul.

The Taviuni is duo to arrive to-morrow morning from Westport, via Bluff, and -will sail to-morrow afternoon for the West Coast, via way ports. The Maheno took her departure from Port Chalmers last evening, as spick and span a 6 a new vessel, both inside and outside. Sho took no passengers, ami will make a non-stop run to Wellington, sailing from the latter port to-morrow ior Sydney, where she will replace the Manuka in the Auck-land-Sydney running. The- Manuka will return from' Sydney to Wellington next trip, and will re-enter the round trip service to Melbourne, via the usual southern ports. Mr \V. Smart (superintendent engineer) and Mr R. Constable (chief of the designing and technical staff) are accompanying the Maheno to Wellington, and it is lully anticipated that her turbines -will maintain the speed registered during her recent trials. Discharging tiles is a very slow and tedious job, owing to tho fact that every tile has to bo carefully passed out of tho ship's hold from hand to hand. Under the circumstances tho f Combermoro's Port Chalmers cargo is being put out at a fair rate of speed, and it is expected that tho big ship "will be ready to come up to town next Wednesday for further discharge. Sho has about tiles to put out at Dunedin, after which she will proceed to Lyttelton to comolete her discharge. It is quite probable that tho Combermere -will bo towed to Lyttolton direct by the tug Dunedin if tho present negotiations regarding towage prove mutually satisfactory. When the Brisbane tug Coringa has completed tho task of towing the disabled steamer Cairnhill to Sydney from the Bismarck Archipelago, sho will return to Briobane from Sydney with the old Port Jackson Company's terry steamer Fairlight in tow. Tho Fairlight was, it has transpired, sold to Messrs Ckghorn, Hopkins, and Company, of Brisbane, a few days ago, and the firm intends to utilise her as a coal hulk on ths Brisbane River.

Thie Norwegian ship Largiemore, which left Montevideo o.n March 20 for Adelaide and Newcastle, is now 110 days out, and is considerably overdue, and much anxiety is felt for "her safety. The Norwegian barque Ravenscourt, which sailed from Montevideo a month after the Largiemore, arrived at Newcastle on tho 12ult, after a good passage of 53 days. So far the Largiemore has not been sighted since sho left for Australia, and it looks as if she has met with disaster.

Upon arrival at Lyttelton from Wellington to-day the ferry steamer Wahino will bo placed in the Lyttolton dry dock for cleaning and painting, and, as tho vessel has completed nearly 12 months' running in the inter-island service, it is probable that the opportunity will be taken of making nn examination of her turbines. In tho event of this being done the Wahino will in all probability miss one trip .north, and next week's Sydney-bound steamer will act as the ferry boat.

It has been practically decided by the directors of tho Northern Steamship Company to purchase the South Taranaki Steamship Company's coastal trader, Arapawa. It is intended to employ the steamer on the West Coast in tho trade between Wangamii, Onnnnke, and Waitara in place of the Rimu, which will then make regular trips from Onchu.ngu to Raglan. Kawhia, and Hokianga each week. Nothing has as yet been decided upon in regard to the Claymore, which is at present employed in tho West Coast trade. It is stated, however, that in all probability this vessel will be withdrawn n.ml diverted to one of the services on the East Coast.

The Northern Company is also having a new steamer built at Dunedin for the Auckland-Waipu passenger and cargo service. Two auxiliary ecows are at present being constructed at Auckland for the company. «. ROTORUA'S CARGO FOR LONDON. Following is a summary of cargo taken by R.M.S.
