/ SHEEPSKIN AND HIDE SALE REPORT. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows: —We held a most successful sale of sheepskins on account of Dunedin butchers at Burnsido yesterday, when wo offered a catalogue of close on 3000 skins. Tho condition of tho skins was all that could bo desired, and together with the classing, which wo may say was in hands of exports, gave the buyers that confidence which enabled them to bid right up to rho Inst fraction of the value of the skii!3. Prices paid right through were from id to id per lb above values obtained at the Dunedin auctions last Tuesday. The top price paid was S|cl ner lb for three choice lots of halfbrcds, while in fine crossbreds wo obtained 9|d to 9Jd for several lines. Lambskins realised up to 9d per lb, which is tho highest price paid hero for some time. Out of the total offering of 3000 skins wo sold only 584 skins at under 9d per lb. It will bo of interest to quote some of our principal sales: 75 suner halfbreds, SJd; 48 suner halfbrcds, 9£d; 57 halfbred", 9Jd; 60 halfbrcds, 9gd; 10 halfbrcds (average 141b), G|d; 76 fine crossbreds, 9gd; 75 fine crossbreds, 9>U3; 100 fine crossbreds, 9j>d; 150 lino crossbreds, 9|d; 150 fine crossbreds, 9|d; 150 crossbreds, 9fd; 150 crossbreds, did; 145 crossbreds, 9§d; 75 crossbreds, 9|d; 65 crossbreds, • 9fd; 120 crossbreds, 9id; 56 crossbreds, 9id; 75 threc-quarterbreds. 9,Jd; 150 .three-quarter-hreds, 9id; 120 three-quarterbreds, 9Ad; 41 fine crossbred iambs, 9d; 58 crossbred lambs, B|d. There was the usual attendance of buyers, but. competition was not quito so keen ns of late. The hides usually contain a fair quantity of moisture at this period of the year, and tho slight, decline in prices is more than made up in trie extra weight of the hide.
