CHARITABLE AID BOARD
The following reports will bo presented at the meeting oi the Charitable Aid Board on Thursday next: —
The Benevolent' Committee reports that it has dealt with 32 casee for relief at a weekly cost of £12 19s. Casual cases amounting to £18 7s 6d bave been approved of. During tho past fortnight seven persons have been admitted to, and three discharged from, and two deaths have occurred at the Otago Benevolent Institution, leaving 186 inmates remaining. Paysheets and accounts amounting to £329 15s 2d have been passed for payment.
The Hospital Committee recommends that a head porter fee appointed at a salary at tho rate of £150 per annum, to rise to £170 per annum by £5 per annum increments. —The committee reports that £368 14s lhave been passed for payment.
The Finance Committee recommende, in regard to a request from the manager of tho New Zealand Coal and Oil Company for a subsidy from the Government on the amount provided for a district nurso for Kaitangata, that application be made to the Minister for his approval of the appointment of this nurse, and the subsidy claimed from the Government on all amounts donated for payment of Ihci salary. The committee reports that account? amounting to £912 11s 5d have been passed for payment.
