THE PRIVY COUNCIL

LORD HALDANE'S PROPOSAL.

AN EXPLANATION.

Pi«si Aisociation—By Telegraph-Copyright. LONDON, December 3.

(Received Dec. 3, at 10.35 p.m.)

Lord Haldane has authorised Professor Morgan to deny that he proposed that the Judicial Committee should go on circuit through the dominions, and to state that what he proposed was that in cases of great exceptional importance, where the circumstances were such as to give a sitting in any dominion a particular value, a number of the judges should be selected from the enlarged panel to go and sit as a.Dominion Committee. Already the appeals had been so grouped as to enable the Law Officers and the Chief Justice of Canada to be present at Canadian appeals. This would only be a step towards providing an occasional sitting in L&nada itself.
