Iwo of tlio horses were killed, but the driver lortunatcly (scaped unhurt. I'ho loss to Mr Bunn is serious, ono of the hoiste being valuable. The scarcity of farm labour in the WaJiganui and Taranaki districts is very acute. Milkers cannot be obtained, and a hundred boys could be placed on farms in ligmont alone. Never in the history of dairying in the Taranaki has the season opened 60 auspiciously, a good winter followed by an exceptional spring having been the'wueo of abnormal growth. The commercial outlook is also bright. Many of the factories have sold at the price of-6Jd for cheese, and cthere have decided to consign on a guaranteed advance of 5 13-17 d. Some fine hauls of crayfish havo been made at Opunako lately. Aji evening or two ago, in addition to several smaller bags, ono fisherman nottcd 163 and another 136. Addressing the annual meeting of the Taranaki A. and P. Association the president (Mr J. B. Connott) referred to the proposal to constitute a 13oard of Agriculture. He considered it would bo of immense benefit to tho farmers, as the members of the board, who would be elected by tho various agricultural societies, would bo in touch with the needs of tho districts they represented. Referring to the question of cow testing, ho would urge upon farmers the necessity of doing justice to their com in tho matter of feeding before they eliminated them on fchoir tests. Ho felt sure that the time would oomo when tho fanners would look to tho shows for exhibits of cows which had shown good tests and of built which had sired good cows,
