Tho Whangape is expected to leave Wellington on Wednesday for : Newcastle. Theilooraki, which arrived froni Sydney, via AVollingfcon, on Saturday, will bo liid up here for a couple of weeks. The Waihora. was expected to leave Fiji on Saturday for Auckland with a full cargo of sugar. After discharge she will return to Fiji. ' The Steu; of Scotland arrived shortly before noon yesterday from New York,, via Australian-ports and Auckland and Lyttelton. Tho Kurow_ left Gisborno on Saturday night for Napier, and is expected to leave the latter port some time this week lor Newcastle. The Rakanta left Westport on Friday for Auckland, and is duo there to-day. Sho will leave on the return trip towards the end of the week. The Aparima is due at Auckland from Calcutta this morning. After discharge she will proceed to Wellington and Lyttelton, and then comes on to Dunedin for survey. From here sho will proceed to Newcastle to load for tho East. The working r«x>rd of tho big auxiliary motor Quevilly', owned by Prentout, Le Blond, and Lerous, of Rouen, France, should proYido considerable encouragement to tailing ship owners wiho have been debating the oil engine in this connection. The Quevilly recently arrived at New York from Rouen on tho fourth yoyage made with the aid of her motors. On her previous westbound trip her engines were working continuously for 200 hours, while during the first and second voyages they ran for 626 hours -without a hitoh. The Quevilly is a four-masted barque! of 3203 tons register. The France, under'the same ownership, is 5806 tons register, and is ateo a sailing ship equipped with' auxiliary power.
