At a meeting of the council"of the Royal Humane Society to-night tho following awards were granted :—Timothy Herlihy, silver medal, rescue from drowning at Waikari on August 7: Joseph H. Higgison, silver medal, and Constable Geo. Baker, bronze medal, rescue from a burning house at Featherston on March. 28; Frank Bell, letter of recommendation, preventing A. Crawford from wandering into the bush at Tahora on May 5; Nurse M'Farlanc, framed certificate, assisting those hurt in the derailment of tho Teriugamutu Company's train, September 3; P.. Etmin, third officer of the Maori, silver medal and framed certificate, rescue from drowning at Lyttelton on May 8; James 'fait, letter of commendation,, resuce from drowning at Waikei'i, February 7; Arthur Lukey, a boy of 12, framed certificate, resnee of a girl from drowning at Caroline Ilav, Timaru, on March 17.
