The Bank of Engjand returns show thy stock of gold coir, and bullion to be £37,169,000;; reserve, £27,717,000; proportion of reserve to liabilities, 53.69 per cent. Tho notes in circulation total £29,460,000; public deposits, £11,544,000; other deposits, £40,051,000; Government securities, £12,757,000; other securities, £29,182,000.

The bank rate of discount is 4| per cent.

Short loans are discounted at 3 per cent., and three months' bills as follows: London, 4 per cent.; Paris, 3|- per cent.; Berlin, 4f per cent.

Consols are quoted at £73.

Australian sides, 70s to 745; flitches, 66s to 68s. Silver, 27£ d per oz. Copper: Spot, £65 12s 6d; three months, £65 12s 6d; electrolytic, £67 15s. Tin: Spot, £185 15s; three months, £185 10s.
