OBITUARY
MR J. W. TURNER, Ifress Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, SYDNEY, Jnly 24. (Received July 24, at 9.20 p.m.) The death of Mr J. W. Turner, superintendent of technical education in New South Wales, is announced. He ww 64 years of age.
Johns's Notable Australians states that Mr Turner began his educational career as u pupil teacher, and did primary work at Tarnnc. He was afterwards appointee to Wellington, where ho remained for 13 venns, nnd afterwards to George street We6t ami Blackfriars Schools. For 15 years he was principal of the Model School, at For* street, Sydney, and during 12 of those year 9 had ttuo additional work of training master in f tho .Training School. In April, 1902, he and Mr G. H. Knibbs proceeded to Great Britain, Europe, and America as an Education Commission, and presented exhaustive reports to tho New South Wales Government
