KING'S THEATRE. The vaudeville artists now appearing at tho Kong's Theatre attract largo houses nightly, and those present last evening were well entertained for the couple of hours during which the programme was presented. The vaudeville items were agreeably varied with several capital moving pictures. Carmen and Lawrence will make their final appearance to-morrow evening, and their places will be filled by "F. JSydney and Co," -who are said to be champion high and long jumpers and remarkably clever whirlwind dancers. lIAYWARD'S PICTURES. Although wintry weather prevailed last evening, the attendance at "The Octagon" was large The list of subjects presented is sufficiently varied to please tho most fastidious. "The Pickwick Papers" head the list, with tho popular John Bunny as Mr Pickwick, creating much fun in the various humorous situations. "Saunters Through Old Rome " is a charming scenic, and " Tho Graphic" contains many topical events. The samo programmo will be shown tonight. FULLERS' PICTURES. The Princess Theatre last night furnished a comfortable retreat for a large number of , people, an attractive panorama to please the eye, and tasteful music grateful to the ear being sufficient to banish for the time the prospect of buffeting once more against tho torrents of rain without. The present programmo has infinite variety, and runs through the gamut of human emotions "The Orchid" (the detective drama), "Tho Man in the White Cloak," "I Fear No Foe," and "Under the Make-up" were prominent features of a consistently good programme, which will be repeated this evening. QUEEN'S THEATRE. An ever-varying throng of spectators came and went at the Queen's Theatre during yesterday, and frequent salvos of applcuso greeted the entertaining series of films on view there. The usual mid-weekly change of programmo will bo made to-day, and a series full of interest seems assured. When tho Desert Was Kind" is _ a lengthy Vitagranh production telling an interesting story of Western life in America. ''The House of Darkness," judging by its title, should be a tale of deep and sinister happenings. " Lady Peggy's Escape " is an interesting domestic drama. A fresh edition of the Warwick Chronicle can be counted on to contain many matters of interest, and the 6eries_will bo rounded dff by some excellent comic studies. BRYDONE SKATING RINK. The Brydone Skating Rink was well patronised last evening, and the floor was fully utilised by throngs of graceful skaters. Largo entries have been received for tho children's carnival, announced for to-mor-row evening, when a race of couples will form one of the chief attractions, MESSRS "WARDELL BROS.' SOCIAL. Tho staff of Messrs Wardell Bros, and Co. held its fourth annual eocial at the Waratah Tea Rooms last week, when a very successful evening was spent, the company including the present staff, ex-employees, and a few immediate friends. A euchre tournament and a musical programme opened tho proceedings, and the dance which followed was kept up till the early hours of the morning. _ Among those who contributed to the musical programme may be mentioned the following:—Mrs Gilmour (song), Misses Gilmour and Hobbs (pianoforte solos), Mrs Robinson (recitation), Messrs Wardell, Collins, Ewart,' and Ramage (songs). Miss Leslie made an efficient accompanist, and Messrs Noble and Evans gave every satisfaction as M.C.'e. The winners of the euchre tournament wero Mrs Gilmour and Miss Evans and Messrs Browh and Heath.

TENNIS CLUB SOCIAL. The St. Kilda Tennis Olub held its annual social in the St. Kilda Town Hall or. Friday night. There was a very large attendance, and the floor was in excellent condition. Great credit is duo to the committee and the secretary (Mr Johnson), who carried out their duties in a most efficient manner. Dancing was continued until 1 o'clock to excellent music.
