WAIKOUAITI v. PALMERSTON.

Tho Waikouaiti Second Grade team journeyed to Pabnerston yesterday and played the Palmerston Second Grade team. The latter team won by 12 points to nil. Tries wore scored by Campbell, Clarke, Austin, and M'Connochie. The ground was heavy and the bail greasy on account of tho heavy nuns- Mr J. M'Ritohic acted as referee. CALIFORNIA* TOUR. The Calitornian Rugby Union has drawn up a programme for a tour of a New Zealand team The programme provides for 13 games, commencing on Sunday, October 5, and ending on Saturday, November 15. It is understood that it is more than probable that a number of matches will be played in British Columbia, of which there is no mention in tho list of matches forwarded by the Californian Union. According to Mr Neil Galbraith, of tho Now Zealand Rugby Union, tho list simply comprises suggestions. NORTH ISLAND v. SOUTH ISLAND. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON. July 23. Sellars, M'Grcgor, and O'Leary all of Auckland, have advised tho selectors that they will bo unable to toko part in tho North Island v. South Island Rugby match to be played at Christckurch on Saturday. C. Ilamsden, of Petone. who has had a long spell this season on account of an accidcnt, to his knee, may not be tit enough to make the trip.
