IMPROPER STOWAGE OF CARGO.
PLAINTIFF AWAIiDED DAMAGES. iPsr Dsrrrn l'mas Ashocutiox ) AUCKLAND, February 22. Mr C. C. Kettle, 8..M., gave his decision this morning at tho Magistrate's Court in the c<isc hrmiglit against the Tyser lino laid by the Auckland Gas Company for damages alleged to ho due to the improper stowing of cargo on the Star of Canada. .Mr Kettle Raid he held on the evidence of oxperUt called for the iilaintiff that the iron plates had been improperly stowed, a7id that the injury was caused by the weight of iron girders placed above. Ho considered it was dear on the evidence that there was improper stowage. Judgment was therefore given for the plaintiff company for £32 7s 7d. also £2 15s harbour dues and £8 2s 6d coats, the plates to be handed over to defendants.
