D.J.C. AUTUMN MECTING. Second Day: I The Dnncdin Jockey Club held the second j day of its autumn meeting yesterday in weathor which must havo seriously affected the attendance, light ruins in the morning and a threatening sky deferring many from milking I la journey to the course. " The track was rather heavier than on tho previous day. Geld Bird won Iho Ilindon llnnllos at I ho finish, and Muircoek registered a de. cisive win in the Henley Handicap. Effort was th<v only withdrawal from tho Anniversary Handicap, which proved a good betting race. Oratava, for once in a way, began smartly, and made the best of "her lead throughout. The Cornet hung a trifle as the barrier rose. Oratava led, within a few strides of the mist, when Gray, making a well-tin'~! effort on Odes--a, got up and won by n shest nock. Counfennino was never dangerous. Soldiers' Chorus put in a good run wh-Mi in the straight, but ran in towards the rails. Tannhausor revor seemed at home in the going. A good race wns provided by the Railway Plato, and the two-yoarolil Grafton li'lv Loitrdes won after an interesting finish. Buff Gauntlet was made a pronounced favourite in the Oiitram Handicap, ar.d practically won all the way, some of the others making a very poor showing. Thistledown whipped round as the barrier rose in tho Do'niain Handicap, and Gapon won with a liltle in hand. Effort lost ground going up tho hll, but came with a very good run in the straight, but failed to get up in time. Stardancor registered a comfortable win in the Citv Handicap from a fino-lr.oking son of St. Ambrose and -Ambush in Ngatapa. Scoltisli Star, who was made favourite in this event, was never dangerous, A good day's snort concluded with an interosling race'in the Welter, in which the whole field wns together at the Irattom of tho straight.
