SUPREME COURT SITTINGS
(Pee Uhited Phess Associates.) , AUCKLAND, March. 23: The Supreme Court sittings concluded here this afternoon. Mr Justice Edwards granted a decree niei, to be made, absolute in three months, in re Edward M'Elwain v. Alice M'Elvvain, on the grounds of desertion.
WELLINGTON, March 23. The Chief Justice granted a decree nisi in the case of Ernest Henry Livermore v. Sarah Livermore, a husband's petition on the ground of mif.conduct. WESTPORT, March 23.
In the Supreme Court the grand jury returned no bill in Rex v. Marklaiid, a charge of attempting to commit a criminal offence. x
In divorce, Kelly v. Kelly, a. wife's petition, a decree nisi was granted. The mining appeal of Stannard v. Thimbleby was dismissed. The decision of the warden was upheld in declaring Stannard the owner of a fourth share in a mining claim. An appeal is now proceeding in tho case of the Police v. Ryan. This is a crse in which the magistrate dismissed an information charging Ryan with selling liquor on Monday, 26th December, which the police contended ■ should have been observed by the hotelkeepers as Christmas Day.
