NEW ZEALAND RUGBY UNION. iPeb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 23. The Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union met to-night. Tlie Dannomrke Sub-union forwarded an appeal againH the decision of the Hawke's Bay Union in removing , a disqualification imposed by the sub-union. It was decided that as the appeal had not been lodged within tho stipulated period tho committee could not consider it. Tho Festival of Empire Sports Committee wrote asking the union to give the committee some assistance in raising funds for the purpose of- having Now Zealand represented at the, Festival of Empire siwrts. The amount required was at least i>2oo. It was decided to donate £5 Eβ. ■ The secretary of the English Union wrote p.s follows:—"Your letter in re the Maori team has been placed before the union, and we are glad to learn of its loyalty to the amateur oodo and the success of its' vecont tour in Australia. My committee, however, does not feel able lo arrange for it to tour this country." It was decided to inform tho Maori team accordingly. In response to a letter written by the New Zealand Union in October lust in roferenoo to the lecal alteration of Law 12, dealing with the ball :i> touoh. the secretary of the English Union wrote" stating that his committee reoommoiukd that,' in the event of the ball not alighting at right angles five yards from the touch-line, a tcrummage should be iormed 10 yards out. It was decided to adopt the recommendation, I'.nd advise the unions and referees to that effect. "It is going: to lead to pointing and all sorts of funny business," remarked , one member of the committee.
A letter was received urging that soparate selectors should be appointed to look after the Nelson, Maribnrough, West Coast, and Buller Unions instead of three selectors ior the whole of the South Island as at present. The matter was referred to the incoming conraiittoe.

REVISION OF RULES.

Tho council will in future consist of seven me.-wbers elected at the annual meeting of delegates. The allocation. of the net gate money at Drown Shield matches was altered to two-thirds to the challenging Jisscciajti'on and oiie-third <b the holders.
