MAYORAL ELECTION.

THEOITY. . . Cr Cole addressed an enthusiasts meet ing m the Walker Street Hall Inst overling. Mr J Loudon introduced tha candidate, and refer-ed to his vahiblc services rendered to the city in the past. The candidate was well received,, and ait the conclusion of his addrew was asked by Mr Sibbald. of the Swimming Club, to express his opinion on tiw question of publio swimming baths. The request being complied with, Mr Sibbald acknowledged his approval of the answor given. Tho following motion was carried at tho -Tjonclusion of tho'meeting: "That in view of Cr Cole's longthy services to the citizens, tins meetings of the opinion that duty of the eleotors to return n *% i yor lo * tho term."
