There are 40,000 persons on strike, including cabdrivers, bricklayers, textile workers, . carpenters, plumbers, and tailors, RIOTERS CLUBBED BY POLICE. A WOMAN SHOT. NEW YORK, March.7. There have been further riots at Philadelphia, many of the rioters being badly clubbed by the police. There were numerous arrests. A woman was fatally shot. , J STRIKE' LEADERS'. INTENTIONS. TROOPS IN READINESS. NEW YORK, March 8. (Received -March 8, at 10.45 p.m.) . The strike leaders in Philadelphia are planning to extend the strike throughout Pennsylvania.
