DUNEDIN CITY MISSION.
The monthly meeting of the committee of tho Dunedin City Mission, held on Tuesday evening l , was attended by Messrs George Roid (in the absence of Mr G. M. Thomson, M.P., in the chair)) John Barnes, P. L. Clark, E. Rosevear> J. Blair, J. Br&ithwaitc, H. Wilkinson, and Wright (Ciiiy Missionary). Tlho Hon. Treasurer reported' the following donations, etc., for tho month:— Sympathiser £2, Lady Friend 10s, Widow ss, Friends £6, Sympathiser £1 Is, Lady £li Mr B. £1 Is, Another Lady 10s, Mr £2 2s, Widow 10s, Albany Street Scrvice 17s fid, Poor Fund ss. Tho usual accounts wore passed for payment. On the motion of Mr J. Brn-itliwaite, a resolution of sympathy with the widow of tho lato Mr S! O. Phillips was paasedi and was sent- 011 in duo course. 11l Ills somewhat brief monthly memo, tho Missionary gave interesting information as to the closing of the Biblo_ classes in fivo of the leading city schools, which was supplemented by Mr Reid and Mr Wilkinson, who spoko from personal observation and knowledge. Tho sum of £5 10s 6d lwd been expended in the purchaso of marked Testaments and 1000 handsome illuminated cards. This year completed tlie fourteenth year of _ this branoh of work. Interestfing dfctails wiero furnished of help given in various directions, cortsonent with tho aims of a City Missioii, amongst old, ,poor, and sick, and' also' assistance by Mr as usual on Sundays and week days in different churches and Sunday schools. It was also reported that this had been tho most successful year of u lc,a - v evening service in PeEiohot Bay Sdhoolroom.
