If the Morniilgton Gymnasium oh Thursday jvening theio was held a meeting of those interested in the formation of a lawn tennis and oroqtiet club' in the district. Despite lh& bad weather there wis a 'gathering of about 50 ladies and gentlemen. The Mayor (Mr A. H. Bridgcr) nromded over the meeting, and fully explained the project. As a result a resolution was unanimously carried affirming the desirability of acquiring- the three sections adjoining the new bonding green. It. was also formally resolved to form a club to be called tho "Morninglon Lawn Tortnis and Croquet Club." A committee of about 20 ladies and gentlemen was appointed to canvass the district and report at a meet in? to bo held later. CRICKET. A committee meeting of the Otago Umpires' Association was attended by Mr G. Prain (chairman), Hamol, West, Philp, Auotin,. and. Smyth. . . . '.
