ANNUAL SKSSION. (Per United I-'nnss Association.)
CHfUSTCRUKCII, February 12. At the Congregational Union the llefeis ence Committee recommended that tho following nolices of motion by the itev. 1. Sargiiiboit ho carried:-"Thai, this council of the union of New Zealand rejoices in tile continued j;ro!jrosj of tho no-liconsti movement in this Dominion, and devoutly thanks Almighty God for the moral and humanitarian oarnootness thus indicated, and prays that Iho campaign against tho alcoholic curse may be entirely successful." "That, with a view of increasing tho value and usefulness of the Year Book, its scope foe extended so as to include statistics and lists of milliliters of (ho Congregational Unions of_ Australia, and also statistics o£ Congregational Unions in the British Isles, together with such information as tho executive may doom desirable."
The. motions were briefly discussed by the council and carried.
It was resolved that a standing committee be appointed to aid in the intiinlenancc and development of the work in tho Sunday, schools, such committee, to act under ami through the union executive. The. following were appointed tho committee:— ltovs. .1. K. Glastion (convener), Y\'. A, Kvnns, At Aspland, and Messrs A. M. Lewis, ]?, Mcadowcroft, and F. R. Lankshear.
The Revs. G. Burgees, H. YV, Burgoyne, 11. Young, 0. A. Lyon, W. J. Smith, "and! D. Mcadowcroft were received as personal members of tho council.
In tho afternoon conferences wcro held on the subjects—(l) "Wanted, a. Pre* gramme," and (Z) " Driving Power."
A young people's meeting was hold in; the evening.
