WELLINGTON, February 2. May Hullel, alias Curtain, alias Jiaker. alias Jiatmermaii, who passed herself off as a niece of the late Premier of England. appeared at- the Magistrate's Court-to-day. charged with having, on January 25, at Wellington, obtained from Walter Clifford the sum of £50 by menus of a false pretence—to wit, by representing that she was a niece of the late Sir Henry Campbell-Baimerman. .Mr Riddell. S.M., was on the bench, and accused was represented by Mr Wiliord. Chief Detective M'Grath applied for a remand for a week, but this application was opposed by counsel for the defence.
