(Per United Press Association.) 1 WELLINGTON, October 28. This afternoon the police received word that the body of a woman was lloating in the harbour not far from the Taranaki street wharf. The body has been identified as that of iiliza Jane I'eeve, an elderly woman, living in Taranaki street, who lias been missing for the past fortnight. Deceased was a prohibited person ami was subject to fits. CHItISTCHUECH,. October 28. A jockey named Geo.'Pine was thrown off a horse during training operations at Jliccarton this morning. He was picked up in an unconscious state, and Dr Western's pronounced him to bo suffering front slight concussion of the brain. No serious consequences are anticipated. Late on Tuesday afternoon Frank Brown, about 12 years of age, son of Mr William Brown, manager of tho Bank of New South Wales at Naseby, fell from a. horse and broke his leg. He was removed to the Hospital and attended to by Dr Macknigbt.
