THE COMING SEASON.
A ROSEATE PICTURE. (Per UxiTEn Piras Association.) CHRLSTCHURCII, October 27. In conversation with a reporter to-dav the Hon. It. M'Nab, Minister of Lands, said: "The Norlh Island is going lo have a wonderful, season. There are several factors contributing to tho tremendous prospects. The mnst important, o( course, is the price. Apart from that, last year's btlsh fires have liad a splendid effect. The land over which the fires passed was covered with logs and stumps. These were cleared tnvay to the last vestige, and a fresh ash seed hen for the grass made available. The action of the llovcrnment in practically forcing on the early sowing of seed by providing it for Ihe Get tiers on easy Terms has to a large extent renewed the whole face of the country, and there is now a magnificent growth and (lush of grass. The dairy-farmers are therefore facing the season under the mostfavourable conditions. The price will be higher. There is an honest intention on the part- of everyone, to clean things up more effectually than ever before, and everything points lo it most successful year."
