ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

A man named William Hannah, 73 years of ago, employed as messenger at Parliament Buildings, was walking in his sleep at his lodgings during last night, and fell from an upstairs window. lie was discovered by lias follow boarders. A doctor was summoned, was taken to tho hospital. It is understood his injuries aro not vory serious, A street musician, a blind man named George Lear, was found dead in a cell at tbo Mount Ccok lock-up on Friday night. Lear, who had been arrested for insobriety at 5 o'clock the same evening, appeared to bo quite well, other than suffering from tho effects of a drinking bout, and arrange-' ments had been effected whereby he was to be liberated on Jmil at 9 o'clock. When tho cell was visited for that purpose at tlie time stated tho deceased was found, lying op his back quite dead. Lear is believed to have been a mechanic in the railway workshops at one time, and an accident there is said to have been the cause of his losing h s eyesight. An inquest was held yesterday, and a verdict returned of "Doaih from apoplexy." CHRISTCHURCH, August 1. A farmer named James King, a resident of Ladbrooks, dropped dead at Little Rivor on Thursday while mustering cattle.
