-T -» (Per United pmss Association.) AUCKLAND, July 31. At to-day's meeting of tho Auckland Harbour Board, the harbourmaster reported on the subject of signalling by bells under water. Ho stated that few, if anv, of the steamers trading to Auckland were likely to incur the heavy expense of installing tho apparatus. This signalling in connection with the principal lighthouses of tho Dominion- would be very desirable wliencvoi' tho larger steamers -trading about (fas coast were equipped to receive the signals.
