FERRO-CONCRETE.

STABILITY QUESTIONED. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 31, The question of the stability of ferroeoncroto for wharves was brought up at. today's meeting of the Harbour Board in committee. The acting engineer, in a report, stated that, the damage that had been caused to piles would probably liavo been greater if any other material had been used. From an examination of the piles it was found that some 250 places on the piles show that the steel was ousted, ond in many spots developed cracks. The stability of tho wharf was in no way endangered. ' Mr Bradney attacked the whole system, and made sorious allegations against the engineer. 'Consideration was deferred until the return of the engineer (Mr Humor) from England, and the matter will probably be inquired into fully in .committee.
