Drunkenness.—A finß of ss, with tho usual -alternative,. WO9 imposed on a first,offender for drunkenness. Prohibition Order.—A prohibition order was granted r.gainst a man oil -the application of his brother. •
Obstructing tho Str&etway.—Alexander Bain, for carrying a Stfc 6in saw along Princes street in 'such a. way as to be a ds-ngcr to persons passing, was fined Is, and costs (7s).
Indigent Child.—A young woman applied to have her female child, aged about 12 months, committed to the St. Vincent do Paul Orphanage, South Dunedin, to be brought up in tho Homau Catholic form of religion.—Mr .T. B. Callan, jun., appeared for tho St. Yincent de Paul Society, and stated th-at the applicant was willing -to contribute 4s per week towards the'child's suppoit, and that tho society -was willing to tako the child into tho orphanage on those terms.—The application was granted..
