In reference to the regulations gazetted last week limiting tho number and 'Weight .of trout to bo taken in one day,' it is pointed out that these regulations -ava simply tho general one\'i in supplement of a New Zealand lioenso, which enables the holder to fish throughout Iho country,' but those licenses aro subject to lo?al regulations where any exist. A holder of a general license fishing in Wellington or Canterbury waters will havo to' observo Wellington or Canterbury rogulatior.e. It is only in districts whqro there arc no local regulations that the limit of 20 trout or 201b weight laid down in last week's Gazette v;ill operate.
