(Psa United Pbess Association.? CHRISTCHURCH. August 31. Heavy rain is falling, and three , days' wet weather are expected. ASHBUIITON, August 31. Rain commenced about midnight, and still continues. Up to noon to-day 67 points were registered. There is expected io be considerable; mortality amongst tho lambs, as the weather is cold.

A further fall of rain, lasting for 40 hours, commenced on Saturday, and extended all over North Otogo. few cattle and early lambs would suffer, as tho rain was colder than that of n week ago, but it was welcome, and intermittent showers such as these will do a vast.amount of good.
