SUPPOSED THEFT

Ranter reports that there is great excitement at Cherbourg over the disappearance of one of the microphones moored off the harbour, and intended to report the presence of hostile ships in war time. It "s thought' that a foreign vessel, knowing the position of the apparatus, took it away in the nighttime.
