DRAINAGE BOARD REPORTS.

Following is the substance of the reports to be presented at the meeting to-morrow: — Tho Finance Committee reports that accounts amounting to £28 l?s lOd have been examined and passed for payment. Since the last lneMing of tho committee £3041 12s Id has been paid into the credit of the board's aggregate fund, and £10 into the credit of the trust account. The pass books were laid on the table, showing credits:—Aggregate fund, £3819 63 lid; trust account, £285 15s Bd. The Works Committee reports:—Tenders, closing August 20, have been invited for supplying the boaTd with earthenware pipes for six months. Messrs Shaw and Richardeon's tender of £2714 C 3 10d has been accepted for contract No. 160, Rattray street branch sower and reticulation extensions. The engineer has Teportcd hia approval of -the Railway Department's proposal for tho extension of the storinwater drain through the Harbour Board 1 land now .being reclainiod for the department's uso. The present 'method of tho licensed plumbers and drainers breaking into tho board's sewers for house connections is unsatisfactory, and the committee has notified thenr ftat in future only the board's workmen will be permitted! to do this work; the necessary junctions will bo provided by the board, and a fee of 6s, payablo in advance, will bo charged for each junction made.
