AMUSEMENTS.

ALHAMBRA THEATRE. • The Alhambra Theatre was crowded in all parts on Saturday evening to witness the usual .week-end change of programme, Miss Beattio M'Donald mado her first- appearance, and was an established favourite before she had sung half a dozen bars of her opening comic song. She is a -scvio of a taking order. The others appearing wero.'Misp Nellie Power, Littlo Doris Baker, Messrs A. Taucher, A. L. Cropp, and P. Denton, and all met with a most flattering reception. In tlio second lialf two ncwcomcrs reado their debut so far as Dunedin is concernod. Tho first of theso was Miss Lorraine Tansley, a vocalist of very fair order. Miss Tansley's songs were welcomed with hearty applause, and, needless to add, tho young lady had to sing again before the audience was satisfied. The other newcomer was Lieutenant Macdonahl, who did some really clever shooting in which he was assisted by Miss. Jlacdonald. Lieutenant Macdona'd's shooting is well worth seeing, A travesty s.kctoh was given by the GreenGibson pair, special items ■by the KeldicDavis duo, Mr Denton sang two or three vocal selections, and several excellent pictures wero shown by the aid of tho bioscope. Tho same programme will be presented to-night: ORGAK RECITAL. An organ recital will be given by Mt David Cooke in the Moray Place Congregational Church this evening. Mr Cocike's recitals are' always enjoyable, and the varied programme which has been prepared ior this occasion should prove both entertaining and instructive. Mr James Coombs will contribute a violin solo. Admission will be free, and .a collection will be taken in aid oE tho Sunday school prize fund.
